No commentsSmart Source coupons
Ever hear of SmartSource.ca? I haven’t until recently (I’ve been off the coupon-wagon for a few months. Hence getting back into it pretty aggressively lately)
I don’t see a point in couponing if you don’t need the product. My coupon envelope got overwhelming and I just stopped it altogether.
I spotted this SmartSource.ca site and noticed that there’s coupons for my second favorite deodorant (my first fav being Nivea which I blogged about in the past).
So get on that and print some coupons! Make sure you use that coupon in conjunction with a sale. Even bigger savings. I know what I’m talkin about!
No commentsI love Downy Unstopables
When I went to BlogHer back in August, I popped into the Proctor & Gamble booth. They had such a fun set up at their booth, and tons of giveaways. In fact, the Canadians who attended got to fill out a form which in turn we were mailed a huge load of P&G products, which you can see here:
One particular product stood out to me which was the Downy Unstopables. I had no idea what they were when I picked up the bottle at the booth. I was smelling these circle clothes laying on top of the dryers and one of the rep’s told me that the cloth had been washed 7 months ago. It smelled like it was straight out of the wash. Unbelievable unstopables. Right?
I haven’t had the chance to try out the Downy UnStopables until recently when I decided to actually stop being lazy and just carry it down to the laundry room with me.

These little green pellets just scent up your laundry like no other. You simply pour in a couple of pellets (probably 20-ish at a time, I don’t measure) on top of your clothes in the washer and away it goes! It dissolves and makes your clothing smell divine once its out of the washer and dryer. I don’t use the dryer for most of my clothes, just for underwear and towels. All of our stuff gets hung to dry. So both ways the scent lingers on the clothes. It lingers for weeks. I haven’t tried this product out yet for months since I said I was lazy and had this product laying around since last October.
But holy moses, I only have to use a tiny amount of it and the bottle isn’t even a quarter of the way through yet. Sure it may be just a gimmick to make your clothes smell nice. But I like this gimmick and I’m definitely going to be trying out the purple scent once my bottle is all used up.
Have you ever tried it??

8 days from now, on Tuesday April 24, McDonalds are bringing back their $1 drink days! This includes soft drinks and iced coffees. It’s my most favorite time of year (ahem, well besides Christmas of course) because it means that summer is just right around the corner!

Sephora VIB / NARS
I did it! I went to Sephora on my lunch break today and picked up the VIB freebie from NARS.
I went in to get my Laura Mercier moisturizing foundation with a gift card I had received from my bestest and used it on that. They reformulated the moisturizing foundation and wasn’t available for months. They did this, as before it used to separate when it was pumped out into your hand. I’m hoping they didn’t change the colors too much because I didn’t swatch it at all in the store.
My purchases and samples:
Laura Mercier foundation, Bumble & Bumble straightening shampoo, anddd… what I went for:
This may have only been for the Canadians as my receipt says “S-VIB GIFT VDAY CAN”? Maybe…
2 commentsSephora VIB gift
Um. Yes, I will be making my way to Sephora today to get some much needed foundation. I always wait for a gift set or something to come out before jaunting into this place. Today, we have a VIB gift from Nars. Are you a VIB? Being one is different than being a regular Sephora Beauty Insider card holder. VIB = shopping addiction at Sephora. Like myself.
I’m going in!

In a dream home?
Right now my Boyfriend and I are living in an apartment complex so we don’t have much say on what appliances are in there. But let me tell you one thing. I already have a list of items that are a “must-have” when we move out of there and get a place of our own.
I have a lot of different tastes when it comes to decorating. I love all of the photos shown above, but how do I know what one will work for me?
The kitchen area is where my Boyfriend and I spend our time together, mainly because when I get straight home from work I’d like to have the stove fired up and supper cooking after a long day. I rest and put my feet up after everything has been cooked and cleaned. Otherwise nothing will get done if I don’t do it right away. I learned that the hard way. Ha!
I’m not sure why I gravitated towards the white counter tops, from two out of the three images. We have white counter tops now which are a pain to keep clean and unstained. So the things that I’m currently missing in a rented apartment building is a dishwasher, and a larger fridge/freezer unit. I think the Smeg Fridge is a great addition that you probably wouldn’t see in everyone’s kitchen. It can look kind of retro but it would also fit well in any of the kitchens above, and they come in a variety of colors. I have a soft spot for black or stainless steel one’s myself.
What are your must-haves in a dream home? If I had to add anything else it would be the luxury of having my own in-unit washer and dryer. I’ve stated it before on my other blog and it’s just safe having clothes stay inside your home. There are laundry-thieves out there!

I forgot about WebSaver!

I just ordered a few coupons off WebSaver.ca and I completely forgot that site existed.
The site I’m linking here directs you to the “Health Check” coupon site, but when you click the one’s you want you’re also directed back to the original site. On the site you can get discounted eggs!! We go through eggs fairly quickly and I don’t think I’ve ever seen coupons for eggs before.
Just thought I’d let you know!
No commentsHerbal Essences sample [Facebook]
I always revert back to Herbal Essences shampoo when my hair gets bored of the current shampoo I use. I don’t know why I continue to purchase other products.
Here’s a great freebie for you all. Just simply “Like” Herbal Essences on Facebook, and from there you can get a 10ml sample of their blue bottle of Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner.

No commentsHoliday Box from Kelloggs
If you visit Smart Canucks on a daily basis you may have noticed that Kellogg’s was giving out 14,000 gift boxes (to residents of Ontario only). When we arrived back from our Christmas Holidays this is what was greeting us at the door of our apartment!
Inside was:
- 340 g box of Cinnamon Pops
- 340 g box of Brown rice Krispies [gluten free]
- 510g box of Mini-Wheats centres
- 6 bars of All Bran Bars in Orange Cranberry
- 7 bars of Rice Krispies granola bars
There’s even a ton of coupons that came with it. Also, another coupon on the box of all bran bars! Score.
I promise next time I find a great deal like this I’ll post it on this site. I thought I was only going to get just one box of cereal. But when I opened it I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Did you receive your free Kellogg’s Holiday box?
1 commentFeed of McDee’s
Anytime I go for a feed of McDonalds I always order the fries. There used to be a competing fast food joint who made similar fries when I was a kid. Ever hear of A&W? That place made some great fries too, until one year (oh yes, I remember the year) back in 1992 they changed their fries. First they made them crispy, because that was the new fad. Then they made them some other kind. I haven’t been back since. No lie. Change your fries and you lose me as a customer.

Fret not, because McDonalds has not, and probably will not ever change their fry recipe. Well, they better not.
And for you lucky Americans you get to have a free medium fry with the purchase of a drink. Lucky you. Drive some over the boarder for me, would ya? Just as a one-time Christmas present. mmm-mmm.
Who’s going to take advantage of this great fry-deal?
Checking out new places
My boyfriend and I currently live in South Western Ontario. He’s lived here since 2005, and I moved up a year later.
This isn’t where we want to settle, and buy a home. So we’re currently on the hunt for Calgary Apartments, that’s not to say that we will definitely be moving to Calgary. We’re just keeping our options open. I love the internet, and all its technology where we both can scope out our ideal living situation, without actually having to see it in person. Thankfully we have friends and relatives in the places we’re looking at, so if need be we can ask them to check out the places if we were seriously interested.
I’m leaning toward Calgary though, since all of my climbing friends and close friends moved there after they lived in Newfoundland their entire lives. I didn’t realize how huge Calgary itself was! I looked online on some statistics website and found out there’s 1.3 million in the city. Huge!
It’s also a short little jaunt to the Montana in the United States. Bonus for shopping on the Canadian dollar.
You know what I say? We should move! We’re only young once. No sense in staying in one spot forever. Settle in due time, in one of the favorite places you’ve lived. Right? That’s sensible.
