What do you look for?
In a dream home?
Right now my Boyfriend and I are living in an apartment complex so we don’t have much say on what appliances are in there. But let me tell you one thing. I already have a list of items that are a “must-have” when we move out of there and get a place of our own.
I have a lot of different tastes when it comes to decorating. I love all of the photos shown above, but how do I know what one will work for me?
The kitchen area is where my Boyfriend and I spend our time together, mainly because when I get straight home from work I’d like to have the stove fired up and supper cooking after a long day. I rest and put my feet up after everything has been cooked and cleaned. Otherwise nothing will get done if I don’t do it right away. I learned that the hard way. Ha!
I’m not sure why I gravitated towards the white counter tops, from two out of the three images. We have white counter tops now which are a pain to keep clean and unstained. So the things that I’m currently missing in a rented apartment building is a dishwasher, and a larger fridge/freezer unit. I think the Smeg Fridge is a great addition that you probably wouldn’t see in everyone’s kitchen. It can look kind of retro but it would also fit well in any of the kitchens above, and they come in a variety of colors. I have a soft spot for black or stainless steel one’s myself.
What are your must-haves in a dream home? If I had to add anything else it would be the luxury of having my own in-unit washer and dryer. I’ve stated it before on my other blog and it’s just safe having clothes stay inside your home. There are laundry-thieves out there!

I forgot about WebSaver!

I just ordered a few coupons off WebSaver.ca and I completely forgot that site existed.
The site I’m linking here directs you to the “Health Check” coupon site, but when you click the one’s you want you’re also directed back to the original site. On the site you can get discounted eggs!! We go through eggs fairly quickly and I don’t think I’ve ever seen coupons for eggs before.
Just thought I’d let you know!
No commentsHerbal Essences sample [Facebook]
I always revert back to Herbal Essences shampoo when my hair gets bored of the current shampoo I use. I don’t know why I continue to purchase other products.
Here’s a great freebie for you all. Just simply “Like” Herbal Essences on Facebook, and from there you can get a 10ml sample of their blue bottle of Hello Hydration Shampoo and Conditioner.

No commentsHoliday Box from Kelloggs
If you visit Smart Canucks on a daily basis you may have noticed that Kellogg’s was giving out 14,000 gift boxes (to residents of Ontario only). When we arrived back from our Christmas Holidays this is what was greeting us at the door of our apartment!
Inside was:
- 340 g box of Cinnamon Pops
- 340 g box of Brown rice Krispies [gluten free]
- 510g box of Mini-Wheats centres
- 6 bars of All Bran Bars in Orange Cranberry
- 7 bars of Rice Krispies granola bars
There’s even a ton of coupons that came with it. Also, another coupon on the box of all bran bars! Score.
I promise next time I find a great deal like this I’ll post it on this site. I thought I was only going to get just one box of cereal. But when I opened it I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Did you receive your free Kellogg’s Holiday box?
1 commentFeed of McDee’s
Anytime I go for a feed of McDonalds I always order the fries. There used to be a competing fast food joint who made similar fries when I was a kid. Ever hear of A&W? That place made some great fries too, until one year (oh yes, I remember the year) back in 1992 they changed their fries. First they made them crispy, because that was the new fad. Then they made them some other kind. I haven’t been back since. No lie. Change your fries and you lose me as a customer.

Fret not, because McDonalds has not, and probably will not ever change their fry recipe. Well, they better not.
And for you lucky Americans you get to have a free medium fry with the purchase of a drink. Lucky you. Drive some over the boarder for me, would ya? Just as a one-time Christmas present. mmm-mmm.
Who’s going to take advantage of this great fry-deal?
Checking out new places
My boyfriend and I currently live in South Western Ontario. He’s lived here since 2005, and I moved up a year later.
This isn’t where we want to settle, and buy a home. So we’re currently on the hunt for Calgary Apartments, that’s not to say that we will definitely be moving to Calgary. We’re just keeping our options open. I love the internet, and all its technology where we both can scope out our ideal living situation, without actually having to see it in person. Thankfully we have friends and relatives in the places we’re looking at, so if need be we can ask them to check out the places if we were seriously interested.
I’m leaning toward Calgary though, since all of my climbing friends and close friends moved there after they lived in Newfoundland their entire lives. I didn’t realize how huge Calgary itself was! I looked online on some statistics website and found out there’s 1.3 million in the city. Huge!
It’s also a short little jaunt to the Montana in the United States. Bonus for shopping on the Canadian dollar.
You know what I say? We should move! We’re only young once. No sense in staying in one spot forever. Settle in due time, in one of the favorite places you’ve lived. Right? That’s sensible.
Sephora VIB
Are you a Sephora VIB card holder?
V.I.B is different than Sephora’s Beauty Insider. To get to the VIB status you have to spend $350 at Sephora stores, or Sephora online in a calendar year. You automatically earn VIB status for that year and the next.
If you are in fact a VIB you probably already know that today November 10- November 14, you can receive 20% off your entire purchase. You’re also invited to the V.I.B opening night party which comes with a free tote. Invite one friend and they too can receive 20% off.
Are you going? It starts at 6pm tonight!
No commentsHave you started?
Ho Ho Ho! It’s just 45 days away from Christmas.
Did you know that? I’m ready to decorate our entire apartment. Christmas is my most favorite time of year and I love traditions, like sitting by our real fireplace with a hot chocolate, and reading a book. So good.
Have you started your Christmas shopping yet? Perhaps you’re trying to compile a list and have absolutely no idea what to get anyone.
I know this is going to bug a ton of people, and call me a keener. But honestly, it’s the best way to do it. I make a drafted e-mail in my gmail account and list out what people have been hinting at me for the past year. For instance, I already know what my Mom, Dad, Brother and Boyfriend want. Now, it’s the fun part — seeing if I can get the item as cheap as possible!
The silver price is great right now, and I’m thinking I’ll be getting my best friend a nice necklace to open up on Christmas Day. For my two nephews aged 5 and 4, I always try and plan neat little gifts for them. I was thinking of purchasing piggy banks and have them monogrammed with their favorite things. Dinosaurs for the oldest and monkeys for the younger one – I think that would be super special, a long with a silver bullion for their first real coin. I don’t know if I’d be putting that in the piggy bank, or just putting it up on their wall.
Have you ever gotten money in that form of a gift before? I’ve only seen them being sold at one place, which is the post office. I wouldn’t know where else to get them. Sometimes, you can get the coins on sale if you really keep your eye out.
What will you be getting your friends, and relatives this year for Christmas?
No commentsGive your lemons back!
It’s a given, no matter how great any car manufacturer is when they make a car, there is bound to be one or two bad one’s in the mix. We like to call those lemons. Inconveniently so, my parents almost always seem to get those lemons. Their luck is just super terrible when it comes to purchasing any car, no matter the brand and having it be a lemon! Getting stuck on the side of the road in the morning when you’re commuting to work isn’t always the most fun thing to do, especially if you’ve got a meeting to attend!
I’ve been searching around for my parents to find out what they can do about replacing their car, or even getting some help. Somehow landed on a California Lemon law lawyers website. Basically the concept is, if you purchased a card that turned out to be a lemon, you can simply contact one of these California lemon law lawyers who can lift the weight off your shoulders and handle the situation appropriately. As it should be done.
What I’m saying is that you can give your lemons back to the people who sold it to you, whether the car be used or new! The Lemon Law attorneys in California allows an option of having the company buy your lemon back from you. Or another great option is getting a vehicle replacement for another car or truck. I’m telling you, this type of thing needs to exist everywhere, especially in Canada.
Thankfully, knock on wood — I haven’t had any issues with my car since I bought it in 2009. Have you ever purchased a lemon, or known someone who has?

Uber funny
Alright, so I know this blog post has absolutely nothing to do with Locupleto, being my coupon/deals/tips site and all. But it is a tip. A tip, if you want a laugh, that is!
My Boyfriend and I always chat through e-mails while we’re at work during the run of a day. Uber Humor is no exception. There’s some pretty funny funny pictures & videos that are uploaded on a daily basis. It’s a great site to access when you’re working on a hard project, and just need a break to relieve some stress with a small dose of humor. Often times I flick back an entertaining photo right back at my Boyfriend when he sends me one through the website.
Uber Humor is always a great laugh for the both of us; which in turn always keeps me, and of course other visitors coming back when they update the website so frequently.
What are some of your favorite websites to visit for funny photos, or videos? Have you ever been to Uber Humor? You should go check it out, and let me know how you like it. Leave a comment below!
I have some photos to show you within the next few days of some great deals that I’ve gotten. However, at the same time I haven’t been using many coupons and a lot of mine have expired as of September 30, and had to throw them away. So sad! I really need to get back into the swing of things.
Stay tuned. :)
No commentsJuly & August, where did you go?
I didn’t realize how much I’ve neglected this blog. I knew I didn’t write for a while, but I didn’t know for how long.
Either way I have to share something great with you guys. It’s free razor time again! You’ll have to call in for this one though, and when the representative picked up the telephone after about a minute or two of being on hold (it wasn’t very long at all!), I said “Hi I’m calling about the free schick razor?” and then she took it from there! No questions asked. Well, except my mailing address and name / telephone number.
Call 1-866-755-9995
Only one per household. But you can probably try and mail it to your friends/relatives if they’ll let you. I may call for one for my Father in Newfoundland!!
No commentsAnthropologie addicts
For those of you who love Anthropologie as much as I do, there’s a wee itty bitty perk if you’ve been stalking some things online.
The closest Anthro store is about an hour away from me and while I do go there from time-to-time I do most of my window shopping online. From now until July 3, 2011 they are offering free shipping to us Canadians when you spend $150 or more. Of course. Well, at least it’s something, right?
I ordered something there recently, but I had it shipped to my sweet friend Pam, in Texas. Just so I wouldn’t get a $25.00 shipping fee, for a $25 item.
