Who says there’s nothing free in life?

Well there is. Because save.ca is giving away free Stayfree pads (18 count) over here. Fill out the form multiple times and send them to your grandparents’ house to get more coupons! I love this freebie, even if you don’t – get it anyway and donate to a friend, or even a shelter.

Did you know…

Have you ever wondered how people ended up finding your website?

A new-ish site called Blog Copy, that slightly resembles Twitter’s login page is a neat little website that monitors what your readers copy from your blog to share with others. This is significant as it can promote your website to potentially gain new readers which then will generate more page views! Popular blogs 101, here I come!

Ikea slashing prices on….

MEATBALLS!

I’ve been to Ikea many times, but never ended up eating there. Ikea has cut their meatball prices down significantly until December 2010.

$5.99 meatballs? Nope! You can enjoy some of those for $2.99 now. See?

Personally I’m not a huge fan of meatballs, but the Boyf certainly is. I love the Ikea candy that comes from Switzerland — comes in a big red bag, and they’re all wrapped up individually and they are almost like a caramel toffee, crunchy thing covered in chocolate. Like a skor bar, but better.

Squeeeeek! Get some Double You Dee Forty on that….

My Dad uses WD-40 on a lot of things. I know it works well, because doors stop squeaking when you use it, ha!

Well, if you have a Princess Auto store around you, you can get it for free with any purchase – on August 21 only. Obviously one per customer, and while the supplies last. Free things are always awesome.

Wondering if you have a store near you? See here!

Gambling on a run

So, tell me this: have you ever sat down and played a full game of online slots? It can be fun, yet addicting at the same time. Whether or not you have a wad full of cash and go to the online casino, there’s always a fun chance of winning more money than you started with.

Somewhat off topic, I went for a run today with my boyfriend and at the end of our run I picked up a free movie pass for the movie theaters. That’s almost like online casinos isn’t it? I want more more more! I wanted to go for another run to see if I could find a $20 on the ground lol. It definitely makes your day when something like that happens. Especially when you feel like death after a hard run.

In all seriousness I haven’t actually bet any of my own money at this type of thing, but I know it’s fun because I’ve bet at small little carnivals where I came back with more money that what I started with.

How about you? Have you ever gone to a casino before? Tell me what happened – whether you won, lost or ended up with the same amount of money when you started.

Pennies for pasta

I haven’t stocked up on pasta for ages, as when I e-mailed Primo back in October they sent me enough to do me until now. In fact, I still have 4 bags of macaroni in the storage bin next to the kitchen.

(November 2009)

(January 2010)

May (2010)

I have e-mailed Primo twice since starting up this website in 2009. Since Primo pasta has been so generous with handing me out coupons, I have tried my luck and sent out another complimentary e-mail to them mentioned that I have previously contacted them before, saying that their product is (seriously) the only one that I buy for my dry pastas. I like how it has dual-portions so I don’t have to put the dry pasta away in jars in the cupboard. I dump in the whole package, and recycle the baggie. I live in just a two-person household with the Boyf and myself, so it’s quite convenient not having all the pasta taking up room on the shelves.

It’s also usually best to save your coupons until you hit a sale. All of the items pictured above were from Giant Tiger sales, where I only paid the taxes (is there tax on pasta? I don’t know, sorry) since the sale was $0.99 for pasta, and I had an abundance of $1.00 off coupons. Yay free food.

Try your luck with them too and e-mail them! website@primofoods.ca

Living Well samples

Living Well always gives out great samples. Today, they’re giving out band aids. But this one, you’ll only get one band-aid. Fill one out for every member in your family and then you’ll at least get a couple.

Offer valid til they run out. They usually go quick, so hurry!

Aerie Monthly Freebie – July

I called my local store to find out what the “A-List Aerie” gift for the month of July was. Apparently the A-list card holder program is put on hold until further notice. They will probably send out an e-mail blast once it is back up and running.

Weird. This year they have been so inconsistent. I guess they don’t know what they want to do now, as the past 2 years they’ve been giving out free gifts basically every month.

ELF sale

As I just talked about this morning on my spiffykerms blog, I painted my nails last night with some ELF (Eyes Lips Face) nail polish.

I noticed this morning that ELF is having a 60% off I in their online stores today only. That’s a pretty awesome deal considering most everything costs $1.00. I have ordered from ELF quite a few times in the past and made some big orders.  But the only thing I keep re-purchasing is their nail polishes. They apply much better than the other drug store brands like Sally Hansen and Revlon.

Here is the image of the sale. I have no idea what “members only” means, that must be a new thing as I don’t recall ever having to sign up for anything. Hopefully it doesn’t cost anything either!

Get 60% off everything at ELF Cosmetics Canada online. This sale will end at 6pm (EST I presume?)

  • ELF Cosmetics Canada Coupon Code: SIXTY
  • Discount: Get 60% off everything at eyeslipsface.com when you spend $25 or more. Maximum discount is $100.

TIP: If you pay using PayPal instead of credit card you will only pay $6.95 on shipping instead of $14.95.

Will you be taking advantage of this deal? Have you ever ordered from ELF?

Long time since I’ve rambled here…

So I have been doing many errands as I sit inside on this beautiful summer sunny day. But I need to stay inside until everything gets done. You know, work hard play hard type of deal? That’s how I do.

I’m uploading, and storing photos on the external 500gb hard drive in case my computer goes kaput one of these days, and it probably will. It’s terribly old.

What are you all up to this weekend? Any coupon redeeming? I received some samples of Playtex tampons in the mail this week, except I am not going to use them because they are freaking SCENTED. An absolute no no for your hoogina!! Who thinks of these things? I should complain to the company.

Anyway, have a good one all!

What am I up to?

Why don’t you pop on over to spiffykerms.com and see what I’m up to lately. Today I posted my Outfit of the Work Week along with a Canada Day recap!

Have a great long weekend – Americans, and Happy Belated (143rd) Birthday Canada!!!

Switch it up

Have you ever wanted to completely switch careers? I’m one of the lucky one’s who love their job. But I know so many people including old co-workers who have just up and quit and followed their dreams to a completely different path than before. Something that will make them much happier in the end. I love that they’re not afraid to do something such as that. It may be more unsecured, it may not produce as much income, but maybe that’s not what matters.

When I was a kid I knew that I either wanted to be a kindergarten teacher, or an “artist”. I clearly became the latter as I’m a graphic designer now. But while I was on the waiting list for the design school, I worked at a hospital working as a cleaner, and even a secretary for the nurses.

I never envied the nurses work, and who knows? Maybe once they were a teacher, or a lawyer and took some accredited online nursing degrees to become an registered nurse. But I just don’t have the stomach to do that type of work. I admire those that can and will work long tedious painful and stressful jobs such as anything related to working in a hospital. There are so many nurses needed everywhere.

Tell me something. If you’re in the working field, are you happy where you are? I certainly am! :)

Super secret gum

On May 20 I wrote about getting a free package of 5 gum. Did you receive yours? I had no idea what it was at first because it came in a secretive black envelope. Very fancy.

When I opened it, this is what I first saw. OH RIGHT. Gum! I love gum.

Open it up and there you have it. The React 5 unknown flavor chewing gum.

Lifting up the gum, there’s a set of 3D glasses! Rad!!

Not sure what they’re for? Here’s a close up of what to do with them:

It was pretty lame to be honest.

However, the gum wrapper came in neat black packaging. Very swank.

Even the gum itself was black! WEIRD!!!

Try it out. It’s sort of fruity, not really freshen your breath type of gum. But that’s alright – because it was all gone within two days of receiving it in the mail. It’s a bad habit.
